My Saving Grace.

If there's one thing that is guaranteed to wake me up in the morning and make me look slightly more alive for those nine o'clock lectures, its my make-up. Its a miracle worker.
No matter how much coffee I drink, it never hides those bags under my eyes like my make-up does. There are some items that I couldn't live without, I swear by them. So here they are...

First on my list is the L'OrĂ©al Super Liner Perfect Slim. I thought I would start with my favourite item and this has got to be the most used product in my bag too. Its definitely my saving grace. My flicks are what makes me... well me! And so every morning without fail this is what I reach for. Cat eye flicks are one of the hardest and most time consuming things to do when your putting on your make-up, but this eye-liner makes it a whole lot easier... Hallelujah! The thin tip of the pen means its much easier to get a thin line than a lot of other eye-liners out there. Though still allows you to have thicker flicks if you want as using this pen gives you the control to do that. I would definitely recommend this to everyone, you can experiment with so many different looks... well worth the money!

Next on my list is the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder. Again this is perfect to have in your bag if your on the go all the time. Though to be honest you never have to reapply it much throughout the day. According to the compact it lasts up to 5 hours, and its not lying! I can put this on once I've done my make-up in the morning and know I don't have to worry about my face looking all shiny and oily when I'm at uni or work.

Finally my last saving grace for this blog is Rimmel London again, this time its the Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in shade 107. This lipstick is by far my favourite out of my ever growing collection. When I first bought this I was a little scared to wear it as I never usually go for anything this dark or bold, but I'm so glad I did. So many times this lipstick has been the finishing touch to an outfit. Plus if your running late in the morning and don't have time to do your hair, put some bright lipstick on and no-one will notice. Bold lips are a key staple right now!

Its a bit chilly.

So its clear that winter is fast approaching, especially here in Aberdeen... its freezing! Gone are the days of walking to work in short sleeves and flip flops for another year. We're back to layering up again, which i'm not going to lie, i'm a little bit excited about. I mean who doesn't love a chunky knit?

With the cold weather hitting us and me being a fashion student and all, this got me thinking I should probably invest in a winter coat. (I know my mum will probably be reading this rolling her eyes saying 'not another jacket'.) The way I see it, shopping is like doing research. Since its fashion i'm studying its compulsory to shop on a regular basis to keep up to date with the latest trends. This is my theory anyway.

Back to the topic in hand... investing in a winter coat. I like many others, am a great fan of topshop, so of course they were the first place I headed for. Going in with an open mind I had no idea what kind of style I was looking for, so when I saw this one on the mannequin I had to try it on.

I'll admit, its not something I would normally go for... but after trying it on in the store I didn't want to part with it. This may be the warmest, softest coat I have ever put on... its just so comfy.
As the style is quite a baggy fit, it means I can layer up for the really cold days but can still get away with wearing just a t-shirt under it if I wanted. The coat is also perfect for a night out as a cover up, ready for all Christmas parties to come. Plus you can never go wrong with black!

Hello.

Welcome to my first ever blog post... how exciting! Though truth be told I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. So bare with me if this is pretty shocking, future posts will be improved... I promise.

So enough about me not knowing what I'm doing on how to write this blog and a little bit about why I'm writing it...
I love fashion. I've loved fashion for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are trying on my mum and granny's high heels and wobbling around in them, so it only made sense that I go and study fashion before going out into the big bad world of work.
I'm a fashion management student studying at Robert Gordon University. As part of our coursework we had to start a blog... and I'm glad because I've always wanted to start one, though was too lazy to get round to it, but there's no getting out of it now. In an attempt to become a better blogger than I am right now, each week I'll write about what I've been wearing, what I wish I was wearing, beauty products and life in general...

Anyway, until next time...
